An extension or a second storey gives you the room of a bigger home without selling, buying and moving. Both need approval, and we handle it, whether the project goes through complying development or a development application.
For a second storey or a major extension we recommend moving out while the structural work is done. For a kitchen, a bathroom and many smaller jobs, staying at home is often possible.
If a renovation would end up touching almost every part of the house, it is worth pricing a knockdown rebuild alongside it.

Do you take on small jobs like a single bathroom?
Yes. There is no minimum job size, from a single bathroom through to a full-house renovation or a second storey.
Do I need council approval for my renovation?
Extensions and second storeys need approval, through either complying development or a development application, and we handle it. Internal work such as a kitchen or bathroom often does not, depending on what is being changed.
Can I stay in my home during the renovation?
It depends on the work. For a second storey or a major extension we recommend moving out while the structural work is done. For smaller renovations such as a kitchen or bathroom, staying at home is often possible.
How long does a renovation take?
It varies with the job. A bathroom and a second storey are very different projects, so ask us about the timeframe for yours.
Do you work on fixed price or cost plus?
Both. A fixed price contract gives you certainty on the contract sum, while cost plus suits renovations where more is likely to be uncovered once the existing walls are opened.
Should I renovate or knock down and rebuild?
If the renovation would change most of the house, including the structure, services and layout, it is worth pricing both side by side. We build both, so we can compare them for your home.
